Overview

Ignis ("the app") is an intermittent fasting tracker for iOS. Your fasting sessions, schedules, streak and history data, and preferences are stored on your device using SwiftData and UserDefaults. There are no user accounts, no cloud storage, no backend servers, and no separate app analytics. The free version may show Google AdMob ads outside the fasting timer. This policy explains what data Ignis processes and how it is handled.

Ignis is developed and operated by TheChosenVictor LLC ("we," "us," "our"). Victor Solano owns TheChosenVictor LLC.

Not Medical Advice

Ignis is a tracking tool for personal use. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional, or health advice. The fasting stages it displays are general wellness information, not a diagnosis or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any fasting program.

Data Stored on Device

Ignis stores the following data entirely on your device. None of this data is uploaded, transmitted, or accessible to anyone other than you.

Fasting Sessions

Each fast includes its start time, target duration, selected protocol (such as 16:8 or OMAD), completion status, and timestamps. Sessions are stored in an on-device database (SwiftData) within the app's sandboxed container.

Streaks and History

Your streak count and the history of completed and ended fasts are derived from your sessions and stored in the same on-device database so you can review progress over time.

App Preferences

Settings such as your default protocol, reminder times, notification preferences, theme, onboarding state, and purchase status are stored in UserDefaults on your device.

Shared App Group

So that the home-screen widget and the Lock Screen Live Activity can show your current fast, the active session's basic details (start time and target duration) are shared with those extensions through a private App Group container on your device. This data never leaves your device.

No Cloud, No Backend, No Analytics

Ignis does not upload your fasting sessions, schedules, history, or app preferences to the cloud. There is no backend server, no user account system, no cloud sync, no app-owned telemetry, and no app-owned crash reporting. Your fasting data exists only on your device.

Apple Health

Ignis does not read from or write to Apple Health (HealthKit) in this version. It does not access your health, fitness, weight, nutrition, or workout data.

Advertising and Consent

The free version of Ignis may show Google AdMob ads outside the fasting timer. Ads are never shown on the active timer ring. Ignis Pro removes all ads.

Ignis uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to request and display ads and the Google User Messaging Platform SDK to collect and manage consent where required. These Google SDKs may process information such as device identifiers, IP address, advertising data, app interactions, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data for ad delivery, ad measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement. Your fasting sessions, schedules, and history are not sent to Google for ad targeting.

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Ignis uses Google's certified consent management flow before requesting ads when consent is required. Users can consent, decline consent, or manage options in the consent message. If privacy options are required in your region, Ignis also provides a privacy options entry point in Settings.

Notifications

Ignis can send local notifications to remind you when a fast is starting, ending, or reaching a milestone. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any server. You can disable reminders at any time in the app's settings or in iOS Settings.

In-App Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple via StoreKit. Ignis does not process payment cards or billing credentials directly. Purchase validation happens on-device. No receipts are sent to external servers.

Data We Do Not Collect

Ignis does not collect or request:

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • Your precise GPS location. Google AdMob may use your IP address to infer approximate location for ad delivery, as described in the Advertising and Consent section above.
  • Your contacts, calendar, photos, or Apple Health data
  • Browsing or search history
  • The details of your individual fasting sessions, schedules, or history
  • Crash logs or diagnostics from Ignis itself

All data resides within the app's sandboxed container, which is protected by iOS data protection.

Data Retention

  • On-device fasting data is retained until you explicitly delete it or uninstall the app.
  • AdMob data is retained by Google per their data retention policies.
  • StoreKit purchase records are retained by Apple per their policies.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual fasts from the history view. Uninstalling Ignis removes all app data from your device, including all fasting sessions, streaks, history, and preferences. This action is irreversible.

Your Rights

For All Users

You may:

  • Access your data by viewing your fasting history and settings within the app.
  • Delete your data by removing individual fasts or uninstalling the app.
  • Control ad tracking by changing your preference in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or by changing ad consent preferences in Ignis Settings where privacy options are available.

European Economic Area (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right to access (Art. 15): request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16): request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17): request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restrict processing (Art. 18): request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20): request a machine-readable copy of your data.
  • Right to object (Art. 21): object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
  • Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7): withdraw your ad tracking or ad personalization consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Since Ignis stores fasting data locally on your device with no backend, you already have direct control over your data. Uninstall the app to exercise your right to erasure. For data processed by Google AdMob, contact Google directly using their privacy tools.

For EEA users, Google acts as an independent data controller for the advertising data it collects through AdMob. TheChosenVictor LLC acts as the data controller for the Ignis app. You may contact us at [email protected] for any GDPR-related requests.

Data Protection Contact: TheChosenVictor LLC handles privacy requests for this app. A separate Data Protection Officer is not designated for the scale and nature of the processing described here. For all data protection inquiries, contact [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

California (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you:

  • Right to know: what personal information is collected and how it is used.
  • Right to delete: request deletion of your personal information.
  • Right to opt-out of sale/sharing: opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Right to non-discrimination: equal service regardless of whether you exercise your privacy rights.

Ignis does not sell your fasting data or app-local content. When ad tracking or personalized advertising is enabled, advertising identifiers and related ad data may be shared with Google AdMob for advertising purposes. You can opt out at any time by denying tracking in the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt, changing your preference in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or changing ad consent preferences in Ignis Settings where privacy options are available.

To exercise any CCPA rights, contact us at [email protected].

Children's Privacy

Ignis is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Your fasting sessions, schedules, and history are not transmitted off the device. AdMob may process advertising data when ads are served, as described in this policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
