It records that VaultSnap compared an item's decrypted bytes with its local SHA-256 seal at the verification time. It does not establish where the media came from, who created it, when it was captured, or whether it is legally authentic.
No. VaultSnap encrypts each integrity sidecar with the same on-device master key used for vault media. A receipt leaves the app only when you explicitly export it through the iOS share sheet.
VaultSnap cannot recover your PIN or encrypted photos. There is no cloud backup, no recovery email, and no way for us to access your data. Store your PIN securely.
The decoy vault is a separate space with its own PIN. When someone forces you to unlock the app, enter the decoy PIN and VaultSnap opens to a completely empty vault with none of your real photos or albums.
