Terms of Service for QRift.

This page documents the terms and conditions for using QRift. Please read them carefully before using the app.

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using QRift ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.

QRift is developed and operated by Victor Solano ("we," "us," "our").

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use QRift. By using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

Description of Service

QRift is an iOS application that helps you scan QR codes, create QR codes, and maintain a searchable history of all your scans and creations. The app includes:

  • QR scanning from camera with automatic detection in under 500 milliseconds
  • QR scanning from photo library for saved images containing QR codes
  • QR code generation for URLs, plain text, WiFi networks, contacts (vCard), and email addresses
  • Searchable scan history with chronological entries and type filtering
  • Pro features (one-time purchase) including custom colors, logo embedding, batch creation (up to 50 codes), unlimited history, and vector export (SVG and PDF)

All data is stored locally on your device. There are no user accounts, no cloud sync, and no backend servers.

Camera and Photo Library Access

QRift uses your device camera to scan QR codes in real time. Camera access is requested only when you first open the scanner tab. You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > QRift.

QRift can also scan QR codes from images in your photo library. When you use the gallery import feature, only the selected image is accessed. No images are stored or uploaded.

If you decline both camera and photo library access, you can still use QRift to create QR codes.

In-App Purchases

QRift offers a one-time, non-consumable "Pro" upgrade through Apple's App Store. This purchase unlocks custom QR code colors, logo embedding, batch creation, unlimited history, and vector export, and is processed by Apple, subject to Apple's App Store Terms and Conditions.

  • Pricing is displayed before purchase and may vary by region.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Restore previous purchases via Settings > Restore Purchase.

Data Loss Disclaimer

QRift stores all scan history, created codes, and user preferences locally on your device. There is no cloud backup and no account system.

Your data will be lost if:

  • You uninstall the app
  • You perform a factory reset on your device
  • Your device is lost, stolen, or destroyed

We cannot recover your data under any circumstances. We recommend exporting important QR codes before uninstalling.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to interfere with the app's normal operation.
  • Exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, or unintended behavior for unfair advantage.

Intellectual Property

QRift, including its design, code, graphics, animations, and branding, is the intellectual property of Victor Solano. All rights reserved.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes subject to these Terms.

Disclaimer of Warranties

QRift is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
  • QR code scanning or generation will be accurate in all conditions.
  • Created QR codes will be compatible with every scanner application.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Victor Solano shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

This includes, without limitation:

  • Loss of scan history or created codes due to device loss, app uninstall, or any other cause.
  • Failed QR code scans or incompatible generated codes.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (including in-app purchases) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Apple End User License Agreement Terms

This agreement is between you and Victor Solano, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for QRift or its content.

1. Acknowledgement

These Terms constitute an agreement between you and Victor Solano only, and not with Apple. Victor Solano, not Apple, is solely responsible for QRift and its content.

2. Scope of License

The license granted to you for QRift is limited to a non-transferable license to use QRift on any Apple-branded device that you own or control and as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms of Service.

3. Maintenance and Support

Victor Solano is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for QRift, as specified in these Terms or as required under applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to QRift.

4. Warranty

Victor Solano is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of QRift to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for QRift to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to QRift, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be Victor Solano's sole responsibility.

5. Product Claims

Victor Solano, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to QRift or your possession and/or use of QRift, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that QRift fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

6. Intellectual Property Claims

Victor Solano, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claim relating to QRift or your possession and use of QRift.

7. Legal Compliance

You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

8. Third-Party Beneficiary

Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

9. Third-Party Terms of Agreement

You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using QRift. For example, if you use a VoIP application, you must not be in violation of their wireless data service agreement when using QRift.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the app at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Florida.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, nothing in this section affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

General Provisions

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding QRift and supersede any prior agreements.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.

Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Notices. We may provide notices to you through the app or by updating these Terms. You are responsible for reviewing the Terms periodically.

Force Majeure. We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet or infrastructure failures, or third-party service outages.
