A random picker is useful after you have already decided that every option is acceptable. Paste names to choose an order, split a routine task, pick a prompt, settle an everyday tie, or draw one entry from a small list.
Randomness should not hide a meaningful difference in cost, risk, time, or quality. If some factors matter more than others, compare them in the weighted decision matrix calculator first.
Equal chances
One line is one entry. If the same text appears twice, both lines remain in the list and that value receives two chances. The duplicate warning makes that visible before you choose.
The picker asks crypto.getRandomValues for an unsigned 32-bit word. Rejection sampling discards the small tail of values that would make modulo selection uneven, then maps an accepted word to one list index. The selected index is fixed before the wheel animates.
Removing the winner creates a draw without replacement: that exact line cannot win the next round unless you add it again. Leaving the list unchanged makes every round independent, so the same option can win twice in a row.
