I put the name Closet Replay on three public legal URLs while preparing a wardrobe app. Today's US search for that exact name still returns app 6773011443, Closet Replay - Wear Smarter, sold by Jijo Bose. The listing catalogs clothes you already own and logs what you wear. Those three URLs, /apps/closet-replay/support, /privacy, and /terms, now return 404 and are absent from the sitemap.
# US App Store search. Read trackName, trackId, sellerName, and the listing's job.
curl -sS 'https://itunes.apple.com/search?term=Exact+Name&entity=software&country=us&limit=5'- Step 01
Search the live US storefront for the exact name
Record trackName, trackId, sellerName, and the job described in the listing. Use today's result, not an older screenshot or a memory of a clear search.
- Step 02
Stop if the same name already covers the same job
Another seller in the same job is enough to keep that name off public URLs. Do not publish support, privacy, or terms pages that use it.
- Step 03
Withdraw URLs that already went out
Remove the route modules. Confirm each URL returns 404. Confirm the sitemap no longer lists them. A leftover public URL is still a name claim after you stop the rest of the release.
